Good day, sun shines! There have been times of troubles when I didn't know about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person. I have never thought that there weren't any need in big starting capital. Now, I'm happy and lucky , I begin to get real money. It gets down to select a proper companion who utilizes your money in a right way - that is incorporate it in real deals, and shares the profit with me.
You may ask, if there are such firms? I have to answer the truth, YES, there are. Please be informed of one of them: http://theinvestblog.com Online Investment Blog

Time for a Car
Graduation is creeping up with 107 days to go! Though upon finishing school, I will need to have a car again. It has been great to live in the westside of LA without a car and I have really enjoyed walking, biking, and taking the bus around. Living a minimalist lifestyle has been a great experience that allowed me to focus on character and identity rather than the relentless pursuit of things. I found it easier to go without a car at UCLA by living close to campus rather than deal with headaches of parking and constant bumper tapping in Westwood.
It has also surfaced in my conscious that I dislike my apartment. There was a time when I loved it, but now it just makes me feel claustrophobic and cramped. Being in my apartment does not make me happy, and it isn't worth the money that I pay for it.
So my recent pondering that I am excited about: Buy a station wagon (probably VW passat wagon). Sublease my apartment. Move back to parents house in Thousand Oaks. Fit station wagon with mattress and back seats folded down. Commute spring quarter M-F but sometimes bum around Westwood at friends and in my car to cut down on the driving. Then graduate. Go on a massive US roadtrip to east coast couchsurfing and camping along the way. Get an industry job and work toward happiness, independence, and love.
So first step is to get the car and find a subletter. I'm working on it!

Graduation
It's official. I can take Chem 156 and Chem 110A concurrently which means I will graduate June 12th. It is going to be a ton of work but I am so ready to finish!

Freegetarian
Everyone has a vegetarian friend or family member. Perhaps your special friend or family member takes it to new levels by being vegan, raw vegan, or macrobiotic. I have heard many reasons from animal cruelty, to sustainability, to toxins, to weight loss etc etc. All I know is that I enjoy flesh of another animal from time to time and I am evolutionarily evolved to eat meat. Now I am not about to go out and kill my own venison, skin it, cook it, and sink my teeth in. This is the 21st century and we buy our pre-cut nitrogen injected beef at the store because convenience (aka laziness) rules us all.
So I have realized I have become a freegetarian... and this does not mean I only eat free range products. It means that I don't pay for food. That's right... I am finding every way I can to minimize my spending and not buying food. To give you an idea of how I have been getting free food:
1) dining halls (asking people for extra swipes) 2) taking storage bags into dining halls and bringing salads and such home 3) ASUCLA coupons for free pizza 4) free bagels on bruinwalk 5) UCLA seminars and conferences 6) Outside Pauly Pavillion there are lots of juices and smoothies in the tents that are left there after basketball games 7) Company recruiters on campus (Noah's bagel's mmmh) 8) Eating at parents' house
Now there will be times that I am hungry and getting free food isn't an option and I'll take a walk to Trader Joe's. I also don't want to exploit friends/family... they shouldn't have to support my freegetarianism. I just find it has become a fun sport trying to find ways to eat for free and save money. It is so easy on a college campus.

Gradually, Then Suddenly
"Just as I always said that I went down gradually and then suddenly, I also got up that way." - Elizabeth Wurtzel Prozac Nation
Last quarter I sat exactly where I am now, Kerkoff early morning by the east window studying for a midterm. I am doing exactly the same thing, same time of day, same exact seat, but this time I feel different... I can breathe. The world is not crushing me... I am not crushing myself. I have faith in my ability and I studied hard. So this is what they mean by functioning. What a relief.Labels: depression, school

Lagers in Southern California
I waited to do my first lager brew until December-January because the bottom fermenting yeast requires lower fermentation temperatures of about 45-55F. I started a Marzen with perle bittering and liberty aromatics. Slight problem though - IT IS SO HOT OUT! I thought I could sacrifice a minifridge but my carboy doesn't fit in it. I did the water bath with for a bit, pitched extra yeat, but the temperature has gotten as high as 75F. It is in the secondary but with the continuing weather and no fitting fridge, I think this batch might be complete trash. All the yeast is probably dead and I am not sure if I should let people drink it at their own risk because I don't know if there is a lot of methanol or higher alcohols. Sigh, I need to stick with ales until I can get a designated beer fridge.
I also joined Pacific Gravity Homebrew Club which I am very excited about!Labels: brewing
